Get to know Mitchell Kirkham-Cooper, the newest addition to our team! Mitchell shares which brands he thinks are resonating, what brought him to ChangeUp, and more.
At ChangeUp, we’re inspired daily by the people we work with. This led us to launch “Five Questions With” – a monthly series that spotlights a different employee, asking them five questions that we hope sparks some inspiration in you too. Next up, get to know our Senior Client Services Manager, Rachael Brandon Young.
What are you currently reading or listening to?
I’m currently reading a true crime nonfiction book called If You Tell by Gregg Olsen. I’m in a monthly book club with friends, and we try to pick different genres every month, but I’m a sucker for true crime.
Tell us about yourself! What’s your background and what brought you to ChangeUp?
I’m originally from Michigan and graduated from Michigan State with an Interior Design degree (Go Green!) I previously worked at PetSmart Corporate on their conceptual design team, where I was heavily involved in the design and execution of their prototype design and new concepts. I’ve also worked on the agency side, prior to ChangeUp, transitioning from the architecture team to account management, managing both B2B and B2C clients.
After 10 years living in Phoenix, my husband’s job took us to Charlotte, where I knew I wanted to find an agency that offered remote opportunities, so I could stay and grow with a company regardless of where I lived. After speaking with the team at ChangeUp, I knew this was the place for me!
What do you enjoy most about being on the client services side of the business?
Although I’ve worn many hats in this industry, client services allows me to straddle disciplines and work with so many different people. I love making connections and working cross-functionally with every team to achieve one common goal.
What are you most passionate about outside of work?
Outside of work—especially since I’m in a new city— I love connecting with other people through charitable and social organizations. I’m part of the Junior League of Charlotte where I get to volunteer and meet other women in the area. I also have a 9-month-old, so I’m definitely kept busy outside of work!
What are you most looking forward to working on at ChangeUp?
I immediately picked up on the positive spirit and camaraderie at ChangeUp, even for those working remotely, which is such a special and rare thing. I truly feel part of the team despite proximity. I’m looking forward to helping bring client work to life and accomplishing it alongside such talented people.
