Five Questions With: Candice Holliday
December 20, 2021
At ChangeUp, we’re inspired daily by the people we work with. This led us to launch “Five Questions With” – a monthly series that spotlights a different employee, asking them five questions that we hope sparks some inspiration in you too. Next up, get to know our Marketing Coordinator, Candice Holliday.
What are you currently reading or listening to?
I still love to see fashion in print. But if I’m not reading Bazaar or Vogue, I’ll enjoy a good fiction novel. I recently began reading Sankofa by Chibundu Onuzo which is fantastic. Reese Witherspoon’s book club list never disappoints!
You’re in the more unique position of working in marketing at an agency. What do you enjoy most about your role at ChangeUp?
As the Marketing Coordinator, I love getting to see our process come full circle. From social media to email campaigns to conferences, it’s exciting to find opportunities to showcase all the hard work our team has put into our clients. And seeing our work in the press never gets old!
I’m also a nerd for analytics. I enjoy seeing what draws people to our site and finding new tactics to improve.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
It’s more of a quote that I try to live my life by: “Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.” – Maya Angelou
I believe that choosing kindness can not only impact those around you in a positive way, but it can also give you purpose outside of your own needs. Helping others and putting them first brings me joy. It’s much easier to be nice, so why not choose kindness? 😊
What are you most passionate about outside of work?
Family and food! My family is my rock, and my extended family has become some of my closest friends. Weekend plans usually involve spending time with the family, and it almost always involves food. I love to try new restaurants, but I also enjoy cooking. The newest recipe I tried was a Brussels Sprouts Gratin which was a hit at Thanksgiving this year!
What excites you most about the work we do at ChangeUp?
We have such a talented group of people here at ChangeUp. Our creative team is so passionate about their work and it always shows in the finished product. It still amazes me how they can take an idea on paper and bring that work to life to solve our clients’ challenges.
